Allow Whitespace For Code Configuration When Importing Product Data

In product codes, the useage of spaces (whitespace) is not allowed for several reasons:

1. Preventing System Errors

Many systems interpret spaces as data separators. If a product code contains spaces, the system may misread the data.

Example:
ABC 123 → may be interpreted as two separate values: ABC and 123

2. Easier Search

Codes without spaces are easier to search, recognize, and process.

3. Preventing Data Duplication

Spaces can cause similar-looking codes to be treated as different data.

Example:
ABC123
ABC 123

System-wise, these may be considered two different products.

4. System and Integration Standards

Most POS, ERP, marketplace, and inventory systems use the following format:

No spaces
No symbols
Alphanumeric characters only

This helps ensure smooth system integration.

When you try to import products, an error notification like this will appear

Therefore, you need to enable the following configuration:

Step 1. Go to Settings, click Product Module, then enable Allow Whitespace for Code in DealPOS

Step 2. Then, try importing the product data again using product codes with whitespace in DealPOS

The product has been successfully imported into DealPOS.

When creating products manually, spaces (whitespace) cannot be added to the product code.
