In the Sell menu, you can configure the system to display the product cost. This configuration is usually used by admins who create sales transactions and want to check the product cost without switching from the Sell menu to the Products menu. With this setup, users can view the product cost directly from the Sell menu.
Before enabling this configuration, make sure the user group has access to the Products - Cost role. Even if the product cost display is enabled, users without access to this role will still not be able to see the product cost in the Sell menu.
To enable showing unit cost in the product dialog in the Sell menu, you can follow the steps below.
I. Configuration
Step 1. Go to Settings, Then Type "Sell Cost Visible"
Step 2. Set The Visible to "Yes" Then Save
Note:
For the "Update Cost" configuration below, it is optional, if you enable it, the user with edit roles can edit the cost when doing the transactions.
II. View Product Cost During Sales Transaction
Step 1. Go to Sell menu then add the item to cart
Step 2. Click product on cart
Step 3. Choose Product Tab, then check product cost
If you set the enable Cost to "No" but the visibility is "Yes", you can only check the product's unit cost and cannot edit the unit cost.
