As a business owner, to provide direct sales commissions for the cashier, sometimes we allow the cashier to change the selling price of the product directly during the transaction process to be higher than the original selling price, or allow the cashier to sell the product below the original selling price for clearance promotions.

However, we also need to restrict the cashier from changing the selling price of the product to be below the selling price or the cost price. For this, we can set the minimum selling price configuration in the Sell menu.

This configuration is important for avoiding sales transactions using product prices that are less than Unit Price/Unit Cost. There are various procedures and explanations that will be covered in this article to complete this setup. For more information, see the following steps.

I. Configuration

Step 1. Go to Setup, Click More Menu, then Choose Module

Setup Menu

Step 2. Go to Sell Tab, then Set Price Minimum Type

  • For not lower than Unit Price

If you enable the "Unit Price" configuration, you won't be able to sell the product for less than the selling price. However, if the price decreases below the selling price during a transaction, this configuration will alert you automatically. If you enable this option, you won't be able to execute transactions if the price of the product being sold is less than the selling price.

  • For not lower than Unit Cost

You won't be able to sell products below the Unit Price/COGS if you enable the "Unit Cost" configuration. This is useful if you don't want to sell products below the Unit Price (to avoid losses). If this configuration enabled, the transaction will not be completed if the price of the product sold is less than the Unit Price, much like the previous setting.

  • For not lower than Minimum Price

To use this configuration, you must first set a minimum price for the product variant. Once this is done, enabling the configuration will allow you to sell the product at a price lower than unit price but not lower than the set minimum.

II. Setup for User

Step 1. Go to User, Click Groups Tab, then Choose Any Group
