Loyalty Points Handling for Customers Created via E-Receipt

Sending invoices via E-Receipt does not add loyalty points

Written by Yansen Yulius

If your business offers an exclusive membership program, customers must register as members before shopping. However, on some occasions, customers may wish to make a purchase without registering. In these instances, you do not need to assign a customer name to the invoice and can simply send the E-Receipt. Consequently, the loyalty points shown on both the E-Receipt and the Contact profile will be displayed as 0. To learn more about this workflow, please refer to the detailed article below.

Step 1. Navigate to Sell Menu

Create a transaction but leave blank the customer field

Leave blank customer field

Step 2. Send E-Receipt

Input phone number and click Send Receipt button

Send Receipt

Step 3. Verify the Point

Navigate to Contacts menu, search and click the number.

Click the contact

As you can see in the screenshot below the loyalty point is 0

0 points

The loyalty points are zero because no customer was assigned when creating the invoice. Since the customer field was left blank, the system could not allocate the points. To ensure points are displayed correctly, please make sure to input the customer before finalizing the invoice. Editing the invoice to add a customer name later is not recommended as well. Therefore, please void the invoice and create a new one.
