Know the Difference Between an Outlet and a Register

Learn the difference between an oulet and a register in a simple terms.

An outlet and a register are similar but have different meanings. A simple way to understand the difference: an outlet is the store or place where you buy items, while a register is the machine used by the cashier to process your transactions.

In DealPOS, when you create a new outlet, one register is automatically created with it. If your store has more than one cashier, you can add additional registers to that outlet. You can also set up multiple outlets and assign register to each, based on your store's setup and operational needs.

Outlet: Store/Business Location.
​Register: Where the customer/cashier makes transactions.

In the example below, you can see that Outlet 1 has three registers used to process customer transactions.

You can check your full list of outlets by going to the Outlets Menu, then selecting Outlets, as shown below:

You can also view all your registers on the Registers tab by clicking on the Outlets Menu, then selecting Registers, as show below:
