When there's a return transaction from your customer, you might face a situation where the customers want to exchange the returned product for another one but your products that are used as a substitute for the returned products are out of stock. To avoid this situation, you can set the returned transactions amount to be stored as a store credit. So your customer can make a deposit amount based on the returned product's amount as store credit and can make an exchange to other products using the stored credit amount. You can follow the steps below to make a return transaction stored as store credit.
I. Create Product for Customer Deposit
Step 1. Create Prepaid Point Product
Create a product named "Customer Deposit" and use Prepaid Point for the Customer Deposit product's type.
Step 2. Setting Product Point and Expiration Date
You must set the product point as 1 to make the stored credit amount equal to the returned product amount.
You must also set the loyalty point's redeem point value to 1 to make the value from 1 point equal to the returned product's amount.
II. Return Sales Transaction
Step 1. Click Return Button & Input Invoice Number
Go to the Sell menu, click on the Return button, input the invoice number to be returned.
Step 2. Add Customer Deposit Product to Cart
Input the Customer Deposit product to the cart and change the quantity based on the total amount of the return transaction as a stored credit to the customer.
Notes :
The credit will be added to the customer contact. User should input customer name on the transaction.
Step 3. Try to Use Stored Deposit Balance for Next Transaction
Selects the customer name from the previous return transactions, then click on the Loyalty Point to use the stored deposit point as payment.
The new transactions will be paid by using the stored deposit from previous return transactions.
