A serial/batch number is the identification number that is assigned to a specific product. The serial/batch number is usually given to electronic products such as handphones, cameras, etc. The serial number will be useful when doing warranty claims based on the serial number checking.
I. Input Serial Number to a Product
Input is commonly used when managing stock in detail in each serial number. Users could set the serial number for serialized product type when purchasing orders on the buy menu.
To insert the serial number for serialized product, make sure you already have Serialized Product type, if you don't know yet about it please check this following article: Serialized Product Type then you can advance to the explanation below.
Step 1. Input Serialized Item into the cart
Go to Buy, input the Serialized Product item. Then click the item on the cart to input the serial number.
Step 2. Input the Serial Number
Click Serial tab, input the serial number (by typing it manually or scan the serial number directly), then click OK.
Notes:
Input the serial number code, then press Enter button on your keyboard. Serial Number will be inputted into the table. If you have multiple serial number, you can repeat the workflow.
Step 3. Complete the Purchase
Click Pay button and complete the Payment
Purchase was Completed, stock and serial number recorded to Inventory.
II. Create Sales Transaction of Serialized Product
Step 1. Input the product into the cart
Go to the Sell menu, then input the product that was previously purchased.
Step 2. Choose Serial Number
Click on product detail, click tab Serial, choose the serial number, then click OK.
Notes:
You can search the serial number manually or using barcode scanner.
Step 3. Pay Transaction
Click Pay button and complete the Payment.
Sales was Completed, and the Inventory of product will be deducted.
Additional notes:
You can input the product directly into the cart by scanning the serial number, but you need to click this icon first to switch the mode from scan by Code to scan by Serial Number.
III. Search Orders based on Serial Number
In case you want to track the Detailed Orders (Customer Invoice/Supplier Bill) based on Serial Number, you can check it in Order menu.
Step 1. Access the Search Serial page
Go to Orders, click more menu, then click Search Serial
Step 2. Search the Serial Number
Input Serial Number, then Click Search icon.
The orders should appear like this. In case the customer wants to claim a warranty, you can use this page.
